Challenger ERT wins annual SACOME SA Mines Emergency Response Competition

As well as being awarded as competition winners and overall best team, the Challenger team were also named team winners of Theory, Confined Space Rescue, and Industrial Rescue scenarios.  The team demonstrated consistency across all events participated in.  They were managed by Jason Carroll, and superbly led throughout the competition by Dan O’Rielly.

The Challenger ERT participants were Daniel O’Rielly, Jaimie Talbot, Adam Colman, Daniel Johnson Ryan Kilshaw, Sean Ingram and Adam Smith.
Outstanding individual achievements were Dan O’Rielly recognised as Best Team Captain and Jamie Talbot highest individual score in the Theory test.

This is an outstanding result given the quality of the opposition, with some teams containing professional full time emergency responders and all Challenger ERT members, management and trainers are to be commended for their efforts.

The team’s performance and this result demonstrates that the Challenger ERT has the capability to respond to, and deal with, any emergency related incidents in a professional, safe and competent manner.
